Anti-corruption hour for students at VI. high school in Zagreb

10.05.2015.

On Friday, February 27, 2015, Transparency International Croatia continued implementing its anti-corruption hours, this time in the Upper Gymnasium Zagreb with the help of the commitment of its volunteers.

An introductory speech was given by Davorka Budimir, President of TIC, while volunteers Anita, Ivana and Srdan carried out the anti-corruption module of lectures, interactive games, and a final quiz (complete with a prize). TIC volunteers discussed the causes and reasons of corruption in the public and private sectors as well as the most effective means to combat it, including increased transparency, the responsibility to vote in elections, and solidarity and support for whistleblowers.

The high school students actively participated in the workshop and showed a great interest in the fight against corruption, as well as awareness of the harmful effects of bribery and conflict of interest. The students identified the following sectors as being the most corrupt: politics, health care, and education.
