The agreement between the Ministry of Health and TIC on increasing the transparency of public procurement

12.08.2014.

Transparency International Croatia signed an agreement on increasing the transparency of public procurement procedures with the Ministry of Health of Croatia.

The aim of the Agreement is to raise awareness of the damaging effects of the corruption, and ensuring the more transparent public procurement procedures.

The agreement was signed by Davorka Budimir, the president of TIC and Minister Sinisa Varga on behalf of the Ministry of Health.

Our goal is not only to raise awareness of the damaging effects of the corruption, but to show that the efficient management of public money from the state budget can ensure the quality of public procurement procedures. Application of TI tools in fighting the corruption may be the example of a good practice for other public procurement.

In the increasing of transparency of public procurement procedures Transparency International recommends satisfying the minimal standards in implementing procedures, which are related to four criteria such as:

  • integrity
  • transparency
  • responsibility, justness and efficiency
  • professionalism
