The importance of participating in elections for the European Parliament

Participants of this forum, "Access to information and participation in decision-making in the European Union" urged the citizens of Zagreb on May 25 go to the polls for the European Parliament.
In Croatia 11 MPs are elected. MPs are elected by proportional representation and preferential voting. Last year's election was marked by extremely low voter turnout. on the polls left only 20.83 percent of voters.
"Such a poor turnout much said about the relationship between Croatian citizens against politicians, but also their awareness of the importance of europarlamentarnih choice. Croatia can not afford passive membership. Only through activity we stride forward. That is why the European Parliament should appoint representatives to actively protect and promote the interests of the Croatian. It is on the citizens to decide until May 25 decide who will do the best. European Parliament elections are just one of the features which citizens participate in the decision-making processes in the EU, and for successful participation in these processes it is necessary to informed citizens better.
