TI-Croatia to participate in an integrity pacts project with the TI-Secretariat and EU Comission
18.04.2015.
The general objective of the pilot initiative, a collaboration between Transparency International and the European Commission, is to explore and promote the use of Integrity Pacts as a tool for safeguarding EU funds against fraud and corruption in EU Member States. Our chapter has signed a grant agreement with the TI-Secretariat to collaborate in securing the participation of the Croatian government and other civil society organizations for Phase 2.
At the announcement of the project on March 19, 2015 at the office of the Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Creţu said, "With this project we are further stepping up our efforts to safeguard EU funds from fraud and corruption. Our funds are a vital source of public investment in EU Member States; that is why I have zero tolerance for misspending. Our partnership with Transparency International in this field is a great opportunity to tackle this issue in a proactive and preventive way and we are committed to make this initiative a success!"
