Don Markušić is an Australian lawyer of Croatian heritage, also admitted to practice in England and Wales. He is the first Common Law Lawyer to be admitted to practice in Croatia. A legal pioneer and law reformer, as long-time Board Member and current Vice President of Transparency International, immediate past President of AmCham and Expert Advisor on the Parliamentary Legislative Committee and Founder and President of the Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce, Don has not only achieved changes to laws but also the way in which laws are made by implementing a consultative process. His work with TIH involves getting the private sector and civil society to take a collective stand against corruption in order to improve the business environment and ultimately Croatia’s rating and score on the Corruption Perceptions Index.
