Transparency International presented EU integrity Watch, system for monitoring the integrity of European parlament representatives. Average European representative has 3 points while Croatian representative in European parlament has 1,91 points.
EU Integrity Watch is a unique database that provides a thorough inside into the activities of 750 members of European parlament. That system enables monitoring the representatives activities outside EU parlament and detecting potential conflict of interests.
Based on report about financial interests, calculation on indicator of external actions is made (EIA). Most point go to representatives that have most external activities and highest incomes that are obtained past the salary in European parlament.
Average European representative has 3 points while average croatian representative in European parlament has 1,91 points. Out of 11 representatives, 5 of them have zero points - Ruža Tomašić (HSP AS), Marijana Petir (HSS), Tonino Picula (SDP), Biljana Borzan (SDP) and Jozo Radoš (HNS). One point got Andrej Plenković (HDZ) and Ivan Jakovčić (IDS), two points Ivana Maletić (HDZ), four points Davor Ivo Stier (HDZ) and five Dubravka Šuica (HDZ) The highiest EIA of all Croatian representatives in European parlament has Davor Škrlec (OraH) with eight points.
"New level of transparency that should be introduced on European union level, has to be replicated on our national level. That is why Transparency International Croatia advocates for producing the registry of public officials", said Davorka Budimir, president at TIH.
