Citizens showed responsibility voting on the elections, now we expect responsibility from those who were elected
Transparency International Croatia would like to thank all the voters who carried out their citizen’s duty by voting on the elections, all political parties and candidates who participated and to those who were elected in Croatian parliament.
Now we expect responsibility from them. “We have publicly called all political actors to come to agreement and take responsibility for efficient, transparent and fair governing. It is true that we want to live better, and people were aware of the power of every single vote.
Also, many people have long lived with austerity measures and everyday change so we call for every political actor, in this important moment, to understand their responsibility and use this rear opportunity to be remembered as brave, firm, and responsible individuals.
We demand people who will be elected in government to be competent, fair and transparent individuals and are exceptional in their professional carriers. And to whom the public work will be honour and responsibility, and not a chance for gaining personal gains and interests. We expect three important changes in management of public goods: first, erasing all unnecessary spending of nation’s budget; second, real fight against corruption implementing mechanisms of prevention and control of corruption risks; third, urgent reform of judiciary system.
Citizens expect responsible and successful government, because as a society we can’t afford failure again. We deserve better and fair life, and we can succeed this only if we, as a society, believe we can change” said Davorka Budimir, president of TIC.
